Michael started in TV in 1990 just after graduation as a video tape editor for WPTV in West Palm Beach Florida a position that taught him how essential visuals are in television. Michael's work in TV has lead him across the country shooting video in virtually every state in the country.
After WPTV Michael spent four years at WPBF as the Chief Editor before moving to Tampa as WTVT’s Special Projects Editor. Then in 1996 Michael moved to Orlando to work for WESH. In 1998 a new start up cable station CFN-13 called on Michael to help start up the station; Michael worked in the positions of Photojournalist, Editor, and Assignment Editor. After getting CFN-13 up and running Michael headed to Naples Florida in 2000 to help run the Naples Bureau for WINK-TV as the Senior Photojournalist.
Wanting to have full control of his work and life Michael and his wife Kim decided to move back to South Florida with their son Cole and start a business of their own. Michael opened A Step Above Productions & Media, LLC and hasn’t looked back.
Michael has an eye for what isn't seen… and for what needs to be noticed and makes one feel as if they are there, as they watch his projects. He takes every assignment seriously and does not finish a project until he and his clients are 100% satisfied. Furthermore, he believes that there is no margin for error.
Most recently in April of 2009 Michael co-founded WWW.TheLaw.TV a website that helps answer legal questions people may have. With in the first month while still in the beta stages of the website WWW.TheLaw.TV already had the largest selection of legal video in the world.
In addition to nearly 20 year’s experience, Michael is a member of the NPPA (National Press Photographers Association).
